Placer County 4-H Turns Out For Community Service

The annual Placer County 4-H Still Exhibit Day was held on January 30, 2016 and BrickDreams was there.  4-Hers from across Placer County gathered project entries to be judged before the fair season. There were community projects alongside BrickDreams including Valentines for Veterans.  BrickDreams was honored to be part of a day of service to our community.  Placer County 4-H Still Exhibit 013016Placer County 4-H Still Exhibit 3 013016 Placer County 4-H Still Exhibit 2 013016

BrickDreams Eureka Granite Bay 4-H Community Service 012316The Eureka Granite Bay 4-H Club held their first community service event of 2016. Eighteen members, friends and family sorted bricks and provided quality control on several cans of tennis balls.  In the end, they completed 5 cases of cans. A wonderful effort of 60 lbs of LEGO! Their effort will go to some deserving kids.

Thank you Babcock Family for Your Donation

Look what we found at the Post Office! Thank you Babcock family of Warriors Mark, PA for your generous donation of so many beautifully packed LEGOs.  We love to get sets that appeal to girls.  We are still surprised when we see such a huge box addressed to BrickDreams.  We can’t wait to get them into the hands of deserving kids. BrickDreams donation 12916

Olympus Jr. High School CJSF Volunteers to Support BrickDreams

Thank you to Olympus Jr. High School CJSF members who came and sorted LEGO on a rainy Friday afternoon. About 30 volunteers packed 12 cases. That’s equal to 144 lbs of LEGO.  A potion of the total was immediately donated to Placer County Chaplaincy and Placer County Sheriff’s Department.  Thank you Spartans for giving back to your community! Olympus Jr High School Community Service 2 Olympus Jr High School Community Service 012216

We even had a volunteer who drove from Concord, CA to volunteer. Thank you Beckie! Together, 9 cases of LEGOs were sorted and are now ready to get into the hands of the kids. We couldn’t do it without you.

BrickDreams donation to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

It was great to recently meet Megan Boespflug, Development Director of CASA and to provide her with 12 lbs of LEGO.  She is excited to share the supply of cans we left with her at an upcoming volunteer meeting where she will be able to describe the mission of BrickDreams to the team.  We can’t wait to deliver more cans when you’re ready!

To date, because of the kindness of our donors, BrickDreams has given away approximately 857.5 lbs of LEGO to be distributed to kids in need.

Thank you – Nate Schreffler & Family

Thank you to the 11-year-old Nate Schreffler and his family (Dave, Melissa, and Zach) of Allentown, PA, for your donation to BrickDreams.  We so appreciate our donors who take the time and expense to mail LEGO to us so that we can pass it along to the kids who are in stressful circumstances.  Thank you so much – your gift means a lot to the kids who will receive your LEGO.
